Our New Year’s Resolution competition has come to an end and we would like to thank everyone for taking part. Our two favourite entries and therefore our finalists are as follows:
Finalist Number 1 - Emily Johnston - Marketing Assistant at Soft Touch Arts
Soft Touch Arts is a Leicestershire not-for-profit organisation that work with disadvantaged and vulnerable young people in Leicestershire, using the arts, media and music as a tool to reach out, inspire and engage young people suffering with a range of different issues that can stop them reaching their full potential.
Their New Year’s Resolution is to hold more exhibitions in their building - Leicester's first Youth Arts and Heritage Centre, and get young people more involved in creating exhibition artwork, curating and installing the stands. They want to do this to help boost their confidence and give them more responsibility and helping them develop leadership skills.
They would use the display boards to promote themselves to visitors and exhibit the wonderful and innovotive artwork created by disadvantaged young people.
Finalist Number 2 - Tom Morrison - chairman of Skelmersdale branch of the Royal Naval Association
Their New Years Resolution is to have a recruitment drive to boost their membership numbers as they have dwindled to just 10 members. They would choose a pop up stand and a leaflet holder to spread the word in local shopping centres.
